Our Founder’s Story

Founder & CEO Lauren Sanchez

What Seven Years at Apple Taught Her About Storytelling

Lauren has mastered the art of world class storytelling. After seven years at Apple, Lauren learned what resonated with her leaders, what actual got a partner to sign, and what made a customer buy. As a senior member of Apple’s Worldwide Strategy & Business Development teams, she led go-to-market initiatives across global consumer and enterprise markets—and crafted executive presentations that landed with internal leadership and Fortune 500 decision-makers alike.

She learned that best stories are where you inspire and educate your audience. Why this product exists. Why this matters. And it’s most impactful when told with a personal story, where the audience can follow along the visual journey of the before and after.

Make sure to ask her about the time she hastily drew a stick figure story on her iPad mid-flight to a client that landed her the largest deal of her career.

Twelve Years. Countless Pitches. One $850M Exit.

But Lauren’s story didn’t start at Apple. Before that, she spent 12 years in the startup world, helping founders pitch, grow, and scale—usually all in the same day. Even leading to an $850M acquisition of startup Datorama by Salesforce where she was the Director of Sales. She’s scrappy, sharp, and relentlessly focused on building stories that drive real business outcomes.

Got the Badge to Prove It

Her secret weapon? She doesn’t just understand her clients—she understands their customers. At Apple, she worked so closely with Deloitte they let her interview their top customers. And her work became so crucial that she had her own badge to Deloitte’s HQ. That’s how she works: like a trusted insider who wears your jersey, knows your buyer, and brings your message to life from the inside out.

Backpacks, Boardrooms, and Bold Ideas

Lauren has lived and worked in Sydney, London, Cambridge, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, and Bangkok—all while launching offices, building teams, and closing deals. Ask her to tell you the story about opening a bank account in Thailand or trying to find commercial real estate in Sydney. Her worldview is as layered as her storytelling—and it shows in every narrative she helps shape.

At Apple, Lauren didn’t just work globally—she pitched globally. She flew around the world leading high-stakes presentations with the company’s partners, introducing new products and services to the likes of British Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, SoftBank, Media Saturn, JB Hi-Fi, Telstra, Verizon, Amazon, Walmart, Costco, Target, Best Buy, AT&T, T-Mobile, Curry’s, Vodafone, O2, Orange, Optus, NTT, TechData, Condé Nast—and more.

When she’s not building brands or flying to pitch in boardrooms, she’s usually:

  • Backpacking in the wilderness,

  • Hanging with her golden retriever Nala, or

  • Raising her daughter to be just as curious, creative, and brave.

At Sky Story Studios, she helps companies shape the stories they tell the world—through presentations that win hearts, close deals, and make people say, “Tell me more.”
